Collection: Lella & Massimo Vignelli
Lella and Massimo Vignelli were among the most influential designers of the 20th century. Together they brought clarity and coherence to graphic design, corporate identities, interiors, furniture and products, on both sides of the Atlantic.
Massimo Vignelli (Milan, 1931–2014) began as a 16-year-old draughtsman at an architecture studio in Milan, where he learned Adolf Loos' axiom that an architect should be able to design everything 'from the spoon to the city'. Lella Vignelli (Udine, 1934–2016) came from a family of architects and trained as an architect herself. They married in 1957 and shared one vision of design that would guide all their work.
In 1965 they co-founded Unimark International and in 1971 they opened Vignelli Associates in New York. Their work ranges from the New York City subway map and the American Airlines logo to the stackable Max dinnerware, which won the Compasso d'Oro and became the founding product of Heller.
At I❤️DESIGN you will find the Max dinnerware by Heller: plates, bowls, mugs, cups and saucers, and the complete Max 1 set.
