Collection: Enea Ferrari

Enea Ferrari was born in Verona on 9 July 1938. Even as a child he showed a talent for making things and built his own small toys. He went on to found Old Timer Ferrari (OTF) and later Linea Zero, companies known for cheerful, colourful objects for children and the home.

At the end of the 1960s, plastics such as the then innovative Moplen polypropylene were changing what designers could make. Ferrari saw the possibilities and in 1970 designed the Toucan lamp: a toucan reduced to a simple, essential shape in really intense colours, made to catch the attention of children. It was the first lamp designed for young children in Moplen polypropylene.

The Toucan became a favourite of collectors of vintage design, even leading to a collaboration with Supreme. Today Linea Zero makes the Toucan again in Italy, in a new version with integrated LED, touch on/off and dimmer, and USB-C power.

At I❤️DESIGN you will find the Toucan LED table lamp in red, green and yellow.
