There stands Hipster Bumble: calm and effortlessly cool in his knitted beanie. But don't be fooled by the laid-back look. Beneath the beanie hides a little bundle of energy that starts bouncing as soon as you give it a gentle tap on the head. The kind of figure you can't walk past without one extra tap. Just because you can.
With a strong belief in the power of smiles, the Danish wood turner Gustav Ehrenreich created the first Hoptimists in the late 1960s: Bimble, the girl with smiling eyes, and Bumble, the alert boy with a tuft on his head. Every Hoptimist is drawn from a circle and an ellipse, and sits on a spring that makes it bounce and nod at the lightest tap. Today they are a classic of Danish design.
