Most smiles start with another smile. The classic Bumble is the essence of smiles, optimism and good humour: with its bright, cheerful colour and round, harmonious silhouette it spreads joy wherever it finds itself. In the medium size it holds its own on a sideboard, a shelf or in a children's room.
With a strong belief in the power of smiles, the Danish wood turner Gustav Ehrenreich created the first Hoptimists in the late 1960s: Bimble, the girl with smiling eyes, and Bumble, the alert boy with a tuft on his head. Every Hoptimist is drawn from a circle and an ellipse, and sits on a spring that makes it bounce and nod at the lightest tap. Today they are a classic of Danish design.
