The Ring-a-Date Calendar by Giorgio Della Beffa is a classic example of mid-century modern design, created in the 1970s during Italy's Space Age design boom. Produced by Euroway, the calendar features a distinctive mechanism where users manually adjust three colored rings to set the current date. This tactile interaction offers a unique, visually engaging way to track the days. Originally celebrated for its minimalist and futuristic aesthetic, it even earned a place at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.

Compatibility & Authenticity

This calendar comes with three coloured rings pre-installed, as described above. To personalise your calendar or refresh the colour combination, the verified compatible add-on is the RING-A-DATE Extra Calendar Rings — the only rings confirmed to fit this mechanism.

As with all iconic mid-century pieces, imitations of the Ring-a-Date exist. Official Ring-a-Date guidance distinguishes genuine Euroway-produced calendars from copies. When in doubt, look for the Euroway mark and purchase through authorised retailers.

Giorgio Della Beffa

Giorgio Della Beffa was part of the wave of Italian designers who embraced plastic as a serious design material during the 1970s polymer boom, working with manufacturer Euroway in Turin. His Ring-a-Date calendar earned lasting recognition for its playful, hands-on mechanism, eventually going on display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Decades later, his grandchildren revived the design, reissuing the calendar in new colorways while staying true to his original vision.
